So… I went to the doctor yesterday and our kid is doing great
He is planning on stripping my membranes on the 21st of February to help “move things along.” As we are looking at the calendar, we realize that she could be born on February 29th (Leap Day). I have mix feelings- of course she’ll technically be one year older every year and maybe this will allow us to do something simple for her birthday for three years and then something big (like Disneyland) on her “real” birthday.
I also got a glimpse of Christer’s motivation for having her be born on Leap Day- She technically won’t be able to date until she’s 64 years old (16 years old- turns into 64 if you don’t have a birthday except for every 4 years
). Hmm…. I love that he is already a protective daddy for his little girl- I had that with my dad and even though it was embarrassing at times- I wouldn’t trade it for the world ![]()
So what is your vote- if we could magically choose the day she comes?

I am going to have to go with the day after your Dr’s visit. (hehe) February 22nd is my birthday. I need a precious girl born on my birthday, since my life is full of boys. I would love to have a little girl to share my day and spoil.
I’ll do my best!
I’ll take her anytime she decides to come! Just excited to have her arrive. But it would be fun to have the very unique birthday of a Leap Year. It would certainly be something to fuss over! Christer is way too funny trying to think he will be able to forestall dating!
I was born on March 4th during leap year. My mom (aunt Dee dee) told me she wanted me to be born on Feb. 29th. I actually think it would be cool. It would make her birthday extra special.
